In addition to this software, manuscripts undergo further verification through the advanced Similarity Check service, initiated by the PILA publishers association and integrated into the CrossRef international research database. This service includes Similarity Check and the iThenticate tool, which compares manuscripts against a vast database to identify potential similarities and ensure academic integrity.

Plagiarism is defined as the unauthorized use of another author’s work without proper acknowledgment or permission. It can take different forms, including:

  • Literal copying – Directly copying a work, in whole or in part, without permission or proper citation. This is the most easily detectable form of plagiarism.
  • Substantial copying – Replicating a significant portion of a work without proper attribution. The extent of copied content is evaluated both quantitatively and qualitatively. Even a small excerpt may constitute plagiarism if it represents the core idea of the original work.
  • Paraphrasing – Rewriting another author’s work without direct copying but still presenting the ideas without proper acknowledgment. This form of plagiarism is often more difficult to detect but is equally unacceptable.

Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript, along with potential sanctions against the author(s).

The editorial board of The Journal «Journal of Pedaqoq.az» evaluates each case of plagiarism on its own merits. If plagiarism is detected — either by editors or reviewers — at any stage before publication, the author(s) will be notified and required to either rewrite the content or properly quote and cite the original source.
